Team Bios

Rich Polt

Rich Polt has more than fourteen years public relations experience, working with and securing media for top-level organizations and individuals. In 2003, Rich launched Louder Than Words, a boutique PR agency which combines his professional expertise with his desire to give back to the world. In only a few years, Louder Than Words has distinguished itself through its quality of service, caliber of results, and steadfast commitment to greater New England. In May of 2005, Louder Than Words launched Press For Action, a unique program that helps local not-for-profits advance their missions through media outreach.

Prior to founding Louder Than Words, Rich worked with Boston, Massachusetts-based Schwartz Communications, the nation’s second largest independent public relations agency focused on high-tech and medical technology companies. From 1997 to 2000, Rich was Vice President of Warschawski Public Relations in his home town of Baltimore, Maryland. At Warschawski, Rich experienced the trials and rewards of building a successful PR agency from the ground up.

Rich is an outspoken proponent for public relations in the philanthropic world and has written at length on the topic. Outside of the office, he places a priority on community involvement by lending his time and talent in support of various causes. He currently volunteers with the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship and is a former Steering Committee member for TECHCORPS Northern New England. He has consulted in the development of charitable fundraisers for the Tyler Hamilton Foundation, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society of Central New England, the ALS Therapy Development Foundation, and the Massachusetts Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. In 2005, Rich was named one of Ten Outstanding Young Leaders by Boston’s Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Rich’s commitment to responsible and effective PR outreach is matched by his passion for road cycling, yoga, and the outdoors. He lives in Needham, Massachusetts with his wife, Jennifer and son, Samuel.

Tricia Burke McKenna

Tricia McKenna has more than six years public relations experience, creating and executing PR programs for clients of all industry and size.  At Louder Than Words, Tricia guides PR strategy and “works the phones” daily to secure placements in top consumer and business press. Her experience includes media and analyst relations, copy writing, awards, speaking placements, and speechwriting.

 

A specialist in media relations, Tricia’s recent placements include features in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Boston Globe, Reuters and Forbes radio. Prior to joining Louder Than Words, Tricia was a Senior Account Executive at Corporate Ink Public Relations, one of Boston’s top boutique agencies. At Corporate Ink she was charged with helping young companies build and flourish in new markets, including those in the service and technology sectors.

Tricia began her career at Project Bread / The Walk for Hunger, fueling contributions for Massachusetts’ largest single-day fundraiser to alleviate hunger. She currently volunteers at Boston College’s Neighborhood Community Center. Tricia holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College.

Crystal Noble

Crystal Noble has strong communications experience working in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. At Louder Than Words, Crystal manages the day-to-day media relations activities for multiple client accounts, and supports the agency’s overall business development.

    

Prior to joining the agency, Crystal handled marketing communications and fundraising for Casa Myrna Vazquez,

New England’s foremost provider of shelter and services to victims of domestic violence. While there, she promoted the organization’s programs, services, and events and helped raise millions of dollars in the process.

She began her career in marketing and public relations working for a variety of consumer, hospitality, financial, and educational institutions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Simmons College in Boston.

Outside of the office, Crystal is an avid salsa dancer, world traveler, and photographer. She also volunteers with Girls LEAP, which teaches self-defense and life skills training for at-risk girls.

Erica Salamida

Erica Salamida joins Louder than Words from the San Francisco office of Schwartz Communications, where she served as an account supervisor for technology and professional services accounts. For the past three years, she has planned and executed PR campaigns that have landed her clients in top media outlets including ABC's Good Morning America, Associated Press, CBS Evening News, Financial Times, The New York Times and USA Today. While at Schwartz, Erica was a core team member of the pro-bono account Disabled Sports USA, a non-profit organization that provides opportunity for individuals with disabilities to gain confidence and dignity through participation in sports.

Prior to Schwartz, Erica was a public relations manager at Needham, MA-based technology publisher TechTarget. She began her career as a journalist for The Ithaca Journal, Ithaca Times and Finger Lakes Community Newspapers.

Outside of work, Erica volunteers with Dress for Success, an organization that provides interview suits, confidence boosts and career development to low-income women. She enjoys the outdoors and running, and ran the 2008 Anchorage, Alaska Mayor's Marathon to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
